This City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing (Colour Technician) is designed specifically for adult learners who are ready to take the next step in their professional hairdressing career. The course is fully funded for adults aged 19 and over through an advanced learner loan, making it an accessible and affordable route to higher-level skills and industry confidence.

Ideal for learners who have already achieved their Level 2 qualification in Hairdressing, this programme focuses on developing advanced colouring knowledge, technical ability, and professional salon practice. You will build confidence in delivering a wide range of colour services, working with real clients, and meeting industry standards expected in a commercial salon environment.

Throughout the course, you will strengthen your consultation skills, improve your speed and accuracy, and gain a deeper understanding of colour correction, creative colouring, and client care. The qualification supports you in transitioning from training into employment or self employment, helping you to start working confidently in a salon and build a loyal clientele.

This course is perfect for adults returning to education, upskilling, or progressing their career as a professional hairdresser.

Duration

This course runs one day per week for 26 weeks. 

Advanced Learner Loan

An Advanced Learner Loan helps adults aged 19+ pay the tuition fees for eligible Level 3 and above courses. There are no upfront costs, and the loan is paid directly to your training provider. You only start repaying once you’ve finished your course and are earning over the repayment threshold. Repayments are based on your income, not how much you borrowed, and if your earnings drop, repayments stop automatically. It’s a flexible and affordable way to gain new skills without financial pressure.
